Bowlar Bear

Bowlar Bear is a collaboration project with Alessi. Amongst more than 1000 design entries submitted, the design was chosen as the winner to join a workshop hosted by Laura Polinoro, the founder of Centro Studi Aless, at Alessi’s Headquarters in Italy. The project is goal to create products that expresses the feeling of love. Therefore, the starting point is the human and no longer the object. The focus is on the creation of an emotional object, overcoming the industrial and production logic. Bowlar Bear is a fruit bowl and centerpiece that expresses a hugging gesture, an universal form of physical intimacy, a gesture that demonstrates love. Bears hugging each other is one of the loveliest and most adorable phenomenon that happens in the animal world, hence the phrase “bear hug”. The Bowlar Bear is an object that expresses love in a playful and adorable way, bringing smiles to people’s faces by just looking at it.
